Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Harbour Master to join our team in Kolkata. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree (M.Sc.) and 3-4 years of experience in maritime operations or a related field. This role is crucial for overseeing and managing the safe and efficient movement of vessels and cargo within our port facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all maritime regulations and company policies, while also optimizing operational efficiency and resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all vessel movements within the port limits, ensuring safety and efficiency.
- Develop and implement port operational plans, including berthing schedules and cargo handling procedures.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with national and international maritime regulations, safety standards, and environmental protection measures.
- Manage and direct port staff, including pilots, tug crews, and dockworkers, to ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of port infrastructure, equipment, and vessels to identify and address potential hazards.
- Respond to and manage emergencies, such as accidents, spills, or security threats, in accordance with established protocols.
- Liaise with shipping companies, customs authorities, and other stakeholders to facilitate port operations.
- Maintain accurate records of port activities, vessel movements, and cargo throughput.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of port operations through data analysis and process optimization.
