Geographic Information System / GIS - Auto Components (Mangalore) - 1-3 Yrs

Role Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Geographic Information System / GIS professional with 1-3 years of experience and a Master of Design (M.Des) degree to join our team in Mangalore. This role is crucial for leveraging spatial data to optimize operations, enhance planning, and support strategic decision-making within our auto components division. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of GIS principles and a creative approach to visualizing and analyzing complex datasets.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and manage spatial databases for our auto components manufacturing and supply chain operations.
- Create thematic maps, dashboards, and reports using GIS software to visualize data related to plant locations, supply routes, market analysis, and resource allocation.
- Analyze geographic data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, logistics, operations) to integrate GIS insights into business strategies.
- Design user-friendly interfaces and visualizations for spatial data, leveraging design thinking principles learned during M.Des.
- Conduct site suitability analysis and risk assessments using geospatial tools.
- Stay updated with the latest GIS technologies and methodologies, and explore their application in the auto components industry.
- Assist in the development and implementation of GIS-based solutions for logistics optimization and network planning.
- Train and support other team members on GIS tools and best practices.
