Role Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Tool Room Manager with 2-3 years of experience and an MBA/PGDM to oversee and optimize the operations of our corporate tool room. This role is critical for ensuring the availability, maintenance, and efficient utilization of specialized tools and equipment essential for our oil and gas operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of inventory management, procurement processes, and operational efficiency, coupled with excellent analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the tool room, ensuring timely availability of tools and equipment for project requirements.
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies to maintain optimal stock levels, minimize wastage, and prevent stockouts.
- Oversee the procurement of new tools and equipment, including vendor selection, negotiation, and purchase order management.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working condition through regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of tool inventory, usage, maintenance history, and repair costs.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures within the tool room to ensure a safe working environment.
- Analyze tool usage patterns and operational data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost reduction.
- Coordinate with various departments to understand their tool requirements and provide timely support.
- Prepare regular reports on tool room performance, inventory status, and budget utilization for management review.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies in tool management and maintenance.
