Role Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Civil Servant with 2-4 years of experience to join our team in Vadodara. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in advocating for and facilitating the implementation of policies and programs that benefit marginalized communities, particularly women in the informal sector. This role requires a strong understanding of social development issues and a commitment to public service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Liaise with government agencies, community leaders, and other stakeholders to promote SEWA's objectives and programs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of community development projects, focusing on areas like livelihood enhancement, health, education, and social security.
- Conduct field research and data collection to assess community needs and program impact.
- Prepare reports, proposals, and presentations for internal use and for submission to government bodies and funding agencies.
- Organize and facilitate community meetings, workshops, and awareness campaigns.
- Advocate for policy changes that support the rights and well-being of informal sector workers.
- Monitor and evaluate project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and objectives.
- Provide support and guidance to community members, addressing their concerns and facilitating access to services.
About Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA)
The Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA) is a trade union registered in 1972, working for the rights and development of self-employed women workers in the informal sector. SEWA has grown from a small union of textile workers in Ahmedabad to a national organization with a presence in multiple states across India. It aims to achieve full employment and self-reliance for its members through collective action, capacity building, and access to various services and resources. SEWA is deeply rooted in Gandhian principles of Sarvodaya (upliftment of all) and Swadeshi (self-reliance).
