Job Description

Role Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Ship Safety Officer with 0-1 years of experience and a B.Sc. degree to join our team in Vishakhapatnam. This entry-level position is ideal for a recent graduate looking to gain practical experience in maritime safety within the context of a leading maritime foundation. The successful candidate will assist in ensuring adherence to safety regulations and promote a culture of safety onboard vessels and within port operations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist in the implementation and monitoring of safety policies and procedures.
* Conduct routine safety inspections and audits of vessels and port facilities.
* Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
* Participate in safety training sessions and drills.
* Maintain safety records and documentation.
* Support the investigation of safety incidents and near misses.
* Familiarize with relevant maritime safety regulations and international conventions (e.g., SOLAS, ISM Code).
* Assist in the preparation of safety reports.
* Collaborate with crew members and shore staff to promote a safe working environment.
* Stay updated on best practices in maritime safety.
