Job Description

Role Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Tool Room Manager with 2-4 years of experience to oversee the operations of our tool room. The ideal candidate will possess a Master of Design (M.Des) degree and have a strong understanding of design principles, prototyping, and manufacturing processes relevant to our social impact initiatives. You will be responsible for managing tooling, equipment, and personnel to ensure efficient production and support for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the tool room, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control.
- Oversee the design, fabrication, maintenance, and repair of tools, dies, molds, and prototypes.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to translate project requirements into functional tooling solutions.
- Implement and enforce safety regulations and best practices within the tool room.
- Maintain inventory of raw materials, consumables, and spare parts, and manage procurement.
- Train and mentor junior technicians and support staff.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction in tooling operations.
- Ensure timely delivery of tooling to support project timelines.
- Stay updated with advancements in tooling technology and manufacturing techniques.
