Able Seaman (AB)

Role Summary: The Able Seaman (AB) will be responsible for assisting in the loading and unloading of cargo, maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the vessel, and performing general deck duties. This role is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of maritime logistics within the leather supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the safe and efficient loading and unloading of raw materials (hides, skins) and finished leather products.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of deck areas, equipment, and cargo holds.
- Secure cargo using ropes, nets, and other securing devices to prevent shifting during transit.
- Participate in lookout duties and assist in navigation as required.
- Operate deck machinery such as winches and cranes under supervision.
- Maintain a high standard of safety and adhere to all maritime regulations and company policies.
- Report any defects or potential hazards to the superior officer.
- Assist in general shipboard duties as assigned, contributing to the overall smooth operation of the vessel.
