Job Description

Role Summary:
Google is seeking a meticulous and skilled Assembly Engineer to join our hardware development team. This role is critical in bringing innovative hardware products from concept to reality, ensuring high-quality assembly processes and contributing to the reliability and performance of our cutting-edge devices. You will work closely with design, test, and manufacturing teams to optimize assembly procedures, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and test prototype hardware components and systems according to detailed specifications and schematics.
- Develop and refine assembly processes for new hardware products, focusing on efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- Perform hands-on assembly of complex electronic and mechanical assemblies, including soldering, wiring, and component placement.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to identify and resolve assembly-related issues, including design for manufacturability (DFM) feedback.
- Conduct root cause analysis for assembly failures and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed records of assembly procedures, test results, and component traceability.
- Operate and maintain various assembly and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and specialized jigs.
- Support pilot production runs and provide feedback for mass production readiness.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards throughout the assembly process.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assembly tasks.
