Role Summary:
As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in the day-to-day operations of a nursing unit. This role involves ensuring high standards of patient care, staff supervision, and efficient resource management within the unit. You will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and productive work environment for the nursing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Nurse Unit Manager in planning, organizing, and directing nursing care.
- Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff, providing guidance and feedback.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards.
- Manage patient admissions, transfers, and discharges efficiently.
- Monitor patient conditions and report any changes to the Nurse Unit Manager or physician.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
- Participate in staff training and development programs.
- Manage unit resources, including supplies and equipment.
- Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate care.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the unit.
