Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bariatric Surgeon to join our dedicated medical team at Indian Railways. The Bariatric Surgeon will be responsible for providing comprehensive surgical care to patients undergoing weight-loss surgery, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and adherence to the highest medical standards. This role involves pre-operative assessment, surgical procedures, and post-operative management within our railway healthcare facilities across India.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough pre-operative evaluations of patients considering bariatric surgery.
- Perform a range of bariatric surgical procedures, including but not limited to gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, and adjustable gastric banding.
- Develop and implement individualized post-operative care plans for bariatric surgery patients.
- Monitor patient progress, manage complications, and provide necessary follow-up care.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including dietitians, endocrinologists, and psychologists, to ensure holistic patient management.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements, techniques, and research in bariatric surgery.
- Educate patients and their families about the surgical process, risks, benefits, and lifestyle modifications.
- Participate in departmental meetings, case reviews, and continuous professional development activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant medical ethics, safety protocols, and quality standards.
