Role Summary: Vedanta Limited is seeking a highly motivated and innovative Biotechnology Research Scientist to explore and implement novel biotechnological solutions for challenges within the mining and metals industry. This role will focus on leveraging biological processes for resource extraction, environmental remediation, and process optimization, contributing to more sustainable and efficient mining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct research and development on bioleaching and biomining techniques for metal extraction from low-grade ores.
Investigate and apply bioremediation strategies for the treatment of mining-affected wastewater and tailings.
Develop and optimize microbial consortia or enzymes for specific mining applications.
Collaborate with metallurgists and engineers to integrate biotechnological processes into existing mining operations.
Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare detailed reports and presentations.
Stay abreast of the latest advancements in biotechnology and their potential applications in the mining sector.
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations in laboratory and pilot-scale operations.
