Cargo Engineer

Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cargo Engineer to join our client, a prominent foreign MNC operating within the logistics and supply chain sector in India. The Cargo Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant handling, storage, and transportation of various types of cargo. This role requires a strong understanding of logistics operations, safety regulations, and problem-solving skills to optimize cargo flow and minimize risks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage the loading, unloading, and movement of cargo, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Develop and implement cargo handling plans, considering weight distribution, stability, and security.
- Inspect cargo for damage, proper packaging, and correct labeling before and after transit.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international regulations regarding cargo transportation, including hazardous materials.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, freight forwarders, and other logistics partners to ensure timely and efficient cargo movement.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage warehouse space effectively.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to cargo handling, documentation, or transit.
- Prepare reports on cargo operations, including performance metrics, incident reports, and recommendations for improvement.
- Utilize cargo management software and other relevant technologies to track shipments and manage data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and customer service, to meet client requirements.
