Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cargo Engineer to join our dynamic team at our Indian operations. The Cargo Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the logistics and handling of raw materials, finished goods, and other cargo within our pulp and paper manufacturing facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, material handling equipment, and safety protocols to ensure efficient and cost-effective cargo operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement efficient cargo handling procedures and strategies.
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics for raw materials, chemicals, and finished products.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, cranes, conveyors).
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards related to cargo handling.
- Optimize warehouse layout and inventory management for efficient cargo flow.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales departments to ensure timely delivery and smooth operations.
- Analyze cargo data to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and carriers.
