Role Summary: We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Category Head with a Doctorate/PhD to lead and optimize our procurement categories within the Ports & Shipping industry in Guwahati. Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for key procurement areas within the Ports & Shipping sector, focusing on cost savings, risk mitigation, and supplier performance.
- Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, new technologies, and potential disruptions affecting procurement.
- Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and relationship management processes to secure favorable terms and ensure supply chain resilience.
- Analyze spend data and category performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and measure the effectiveness of implemented strategies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and legal teams, to ensure alignment of category strategies with business needs.
- Drive innovation in procurement practices by exploring and implementing best-in-class solutions and technologies.
- Manage and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and high performance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, company policies, and ethical standards in procurement activities.
- Prepare and present regular reports on category performance, market intelligence, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
