Category Head - Petrochemicals (Chennai)

Role Summary: We are seeking a motivated and legally-inclined individual to join our team as a Category Head, focusing on the Petrochemicals division. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing procurement strategies for various petrochemical products, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for a legal professional with 2-3 years of experience looking to transition into a commercial and strategic procurement role within a leading Indian conglomerate.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement category strategies for petrochemical products, aligning with business objectives and market trends.
- Conduct market research and supplier analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure supply chain resilience.
- Negotiate contracts and service level agreements with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Monitor contract performance and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory frameworks, including environmental and safety standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, and operations teams, to address any contractual or compliance issues.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance, fostering strong partnerships.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and relevant legal developments in the petrochemical sector.
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to RIL's ethical standards and corporate governance policies.
