Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and data-driven professional to join our Procurement team as a Category Manager for Operations. This role will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings and operational efficiencies within various indirect spend categories critical to our biotechnology operations in India. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement processes, market dynamics, and a proven track record in managing complex categories.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for indirect spend areas such as laboratory supplies, facility management, IT hardware/software, and professional services.
* Conduct market analysis, supplier research, and benchmarking to identify potential suppliers and sourcing opportunities.
* Lead end-to-end sourcing events, including RFx development, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
* Manage supplier performance, ensuring adherence to contractual terms, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders (R&D, Manufacturing, IT, Finance) to understand their needs and align category strategies accordingly.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement processes, reduce costs, and mitigate risks.
* Monitor category spend, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical sourcing practices, and regulatory requirements.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal business partners.
* Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement within the supply chain.
