Job Description

Summary: The Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the Indian Cancer Society, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with relevant regulations, and contributing to the organization's strategic financial planning. This role requires a strong understanding of non-profit accounting principles and practices, with a focus on transparency and accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting standards and organizational policies.

Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws, charity regulations, and auditing requirements.

Assist in the development and management of the annual budget and monitor financial performance against the budget.

Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.

Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and internal controls.

Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
