Role Summary:
The Chief Legal Officer (CLO) will be responsible for overseeing all legal affairs of WPP India, providing strategic legal counsel to the executive leadership team, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This role requires a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in corporate law, intellectual property, advertising law, and regulatory compliance within the Indian market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the legal department, including external counsel, to provide comprehensive legal support to all WPP India operations.
- Advise the Board of Directors and senior management on legal risks and strategic legal matters.
- Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and review of all commercial contracts, including client agreements, vendor contracts, and partnership agreements.
- Ensure compliance with Indian corporate laws, labor laws, intellectual property laws, advertising standards, and data privacy regulations.
- Manage all litigation and dispute resolution matters.
- Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to mitigate risk and ensure ethical business practices.
- Provide legal guidance on mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
- Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations and advise the company on their impact.
