Role Summary: Biocon Limited is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Legal Officer (CLO) to lead its legal affairs and ensure robust compliance across its global operations, with a significant focus on its Indian presence. The CLO will be responsible for providing expert legal counsel, managing all legal risks, and shaping the company's legal strategy to support its growth and innovation in the biotechnology sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all legal operations, including corporate law, intellectual property, regulatory affairs, litigation, and compliance.
Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with the company's business objectives and growth plans.
Advise the Board of Directors and senior management on legal and regulatory matters.
Manage intellectual property portfolio, including patent prosecution, enforcement, and licensing.
Ensure compliance with all applicable Indian and international laws and regulations, including those specific to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
Oversee contract negotiations, drafting, and management.
Manage external legal counsel and ensure cost-effective legal services.
Lead and mentor the legal team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks.
