Chief Legal Officer (CLO)

Role Summary:
Reliance Retail Ventures Limited is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Legal Officer (CLO) to oversee all legal affairs and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role is crucial for guiding the company through its rapid expansion and complex legal landscape. The CLO will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice to senior management and the board of directors. This position is ideal for an individual with 4-6 years of experience post LLB, possessing a strong understanding of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance within the Indian retail sector.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal counsel on a wide range of corporate matters, including mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate governance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, vendor agreements, and other legal documents.
- Advise on compliance with all applicable Indian laws and regulations, including those related to retail operations, consumer protection, and data privacy.
- Manage litigation and dispute resolution, working with external counsel as necessary.
- Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to mitigate risks.
- Oversee intellectual property protection and management.
- Stay abreast of changes in legislation and regulatory frameworks affecting the retail industry.
- Manage the legal department's budget and resources effectively.
