Job Description

Role Summary: The Chief Risk Officer (CRO) will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive risk management framework for Pratham Education Foundation. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of financial, operational, and programmatic risks within the non-profit sector, particularly in the Indian context. The CRO will identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks to ensure the organization's sustainability and the effective achievement of its mission.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement an enterprise-wide risk management (ERM) strategy aligned with Pratham's mission and objectives.
  2. Identify, assess, and prioritize key risks across all organizational functions, including programmatic, financial, operational, reputational, and compliance risks.
  3. Design and implement risk mitigation strategies, controls, and action plans.
  4. Establish and monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and risk appetite statements.
  5. Oversee the development and implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
  6. Provide guidance and training to staff on risk management best practices.
  7. Liaise with external stakeholders, including donors, auditors, and regulatory bodies, on risk-related matters.
  8. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  9. Report regularly to the Board of Directors and senior management on the organization's risk profile and mitigation efforts.
