Civil Litigation Counsel

Role Summary:
HAL is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Civil Litigation Counsel with a unique background in design and a Master of Design (M.Des) degree to join our legal team in Bhubaneshwar. This role requires a candidate who can bring a fresh, analytical perspective to complex legal challenges within the defence and aerospace industry. The ideal candidate will leverage their M.Des training in critical thinking, problem-solving, and visual communication to support our litigation efforts, contract reviews, and dispute resolution processes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist in managing and conducting civil litigation cases for HAL, from pre-litigation strategy to trial and appeal.
* Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on complex issues relevant to the defence and aerospace sector.
* Draft, review, and file various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, and legal notices.
* Interpret and advise on contractual obligations, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineers, project managers, and procurement teams, to gather information and develop case strategies.
* Utilize design thinking principles and visual communication skills to present complex legal information clearly and effectively to non-legal audiences.
* Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
* Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations impacting the defence and aerospace industry in India.
* Manage external counsel and ensure efficient handling of outsourced legal matters.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures.
