Commodity Manager

Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Commodity Manager to oversee the procurement and management of key agricultural commodities for WayCool Foods. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness, and contributing to the overall supply chain efficiency of the company. This role is crucial in supporting our mission to build a resilient and sustainable food system in India.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for assigned agricultural commodities, considering market trends, supply availability, and quality requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers, ensuring they meet WayCool's quality, ethical, and sustainability standards.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable supply agreements.
• Monitor commodity markets, analyze price fluctuations, and manage price risk through hedging strategies or other appropriate mechanisms.
• Ensure consistent supply of commodities, managing inventory levels and coordinating with logistics teams for timely delivery.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Quality Assurance, Operations, Sales) to understand their needs and ensure commodity specifications are met.
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement, supplier performance, and commodity costs.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in agricultural commodity management.
