Job Description
Role Summary:
The Construction Materials Manager will oversee the procurement, quality control, and efficient utilization of all construction materials for major highway projects undertaken by the NHAI. This role is critical in ensuring project timelines, budget adherence, and the structural integrity of national highways.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement material management strategies for highway construction projects.
- Source and procure high-quality construction materials (aggregates, cement, steel, bitumen, etc.) from approved vendors.
- Establish and enforce stringent quality control measures for all incoming and in-situ materials.
- Monitor material inventory levels and manage logistics for timely delivery to project sites.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure proper material handling, storage, and usage.
- Collaborate with project engineers and contractors to forecast material requirements.
- Analyze material costs and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Indian Standards (IS) and NHAI specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of material procurement, testing, and usage.
- Investigate and resolve any material-related issues or disputes.
