Construction Safety Specialist

Role Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Construction Safety Specialist to join our team in India. This role is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities related to our clinical research facilities and project sites adhere to the highest safety standards and comply with all relevant Indian regulations. The specialist will play a vital role in preventing accidents, promoting a safety-first culture, and ensuring a secure working environment for all personnel involved in construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive construction safety plans and procedures specific to clinical research site development and maintenance.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and non-compliance with safety regulations.
• Investigate all accidents, near misses, and safety incidents, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide safety training and toolbox talks to construction workers, supervisors, and subcontractors on topics such as hazard communication, fall protection, electrical safety, and emergency procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Indian safety laws, building codes, and environmental regulations (e.g., Factories Act, Construction Workers Act).
• Review construction plans and specifications to ensure safety considerations are integrated from the design phase.
• Maintain accurate safety records, including training logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and external stakeholders to foster a proactive safety culture.
• Oversee the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment on site.
• Respond to and manage emergency situations as per established protocols.
