Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Criminal Law Specialist to join our legal team in Bangalore. This role will be responsible for providing expert legal counsel on all criminal law matters impacting our extensive operations across India. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of technical legal acumen, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the hospitality sector's unique legal landscape. This position requires a candidate with 4-6 years of relevant experience, holding an M.Tech degree, which will be leveraged for understanding complex technical aspects related to regulatory compliance and evidence handling within the criminal justice system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on and manage all criminal law related issues, including investigations, litigation, and compliance.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on evolving criminal laws and their implications for the company's business.
- Represent the company in criminal proceedings, including bail applications, trials, and appeals, or liaise effectively with external counsel.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate criminal law risks and liabilities.
- Review and advise on contracts, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with criminal statutes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including HR, operations, and security, to address criminal law concerns.
- Provide training to relevant teams on criminal law awareness and best practices.
- Analyze technical evidence and expert reports, leveraging M.Tech background for deeper comprehension in cases involving digital forensics, intellectual property theft, or complex fraud.
- Manage external legal counsel and ensure cost-effective resolution of legal matters.
- Stay abreast of significant legal developments and judicial pronouncements in criminal law.
