Role Summary:
ONGC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Criminal Lawyer to join its legal department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal counsel on all criminal law matters pertaining to the company's operations in India. This role requires a deep understanding of Indian criminal statutes, corporate law, and the specific legal challenges faced by companies in the oil and gas sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise ONGC management and various departments on all aspects of criminal law, including but not limited to, fraud, corruption, environmental crimes, and regulatory offenses.
- Conduct legal research and provide opinions on complex criminal law issues relevant to ONGC's business.
- Represent ONGC in criminal investigations, inquiries, and proceedings before various courts, tribunals, and statutory authorities.
- Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, affidavits, petitions, and other court filings.
- Collaborate with external counsel and law enforcement agencies as needed.
- Develop and implement strategies for mitigating criminal law risks and ensuring compliance.
- Stay abreast of changes in criminal law and regulations impacting the oil and gas industry in India.
- Provide training and guidance to ONGC employees on criminal law compliance.
