Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Deck Fitter / Welder to join our facilities maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal structures and equipment, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards. This role is crucial for maintaining the infrastructure and operational efficiency of our research and development facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and requirements for metal fabrication and assembly.
2. Cut, shape, and join metal components using various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) and cutting tools.
3. Perform structural welding on decks, platforms, and other metal structures.
4. Assemble and install metal components and structures according to project plans.
5. Inspect and test welds and fabricated parts for defects, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety regulations.
6. Perform repairs and maintenance on existing metal structures and equipment.
7. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
8. Operate and maintain welding and fabrication equipment.
