Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Derrickman with a Doctorate/PhD in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical) and 3-4 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and executing complex operations related to drilling and well services within our power generation facilities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with all regulatory standards. This role requires a strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude, coupled with practical understanding of heavy machinery and operational protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage all aspects of derrick operations, including lifting, rigging, and hoisting of heavy equipment and materials.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, hazard identification, and risk assessment, to maintain a zero-incident environment.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of derrick equipment, including cranes, hoists, and safety gear, to ensure optimal performance and prevent failures.
- Interpret and implement technical drawings, schematics, and operational manuals to guide derrick operations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot operational challenges and develop innovative solutions for complex lifting and drilling tasks.
- Monitor and control operational parameters, ensuring efficiency and minimizing downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of derrick operations, equipment performance, and safety compliance.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior team members.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in derrick technology and power sector operational best practices.
