Desktop Engineer

Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Desktop Engineer to join our IT team. The Desktop Engineer will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of all desktop hardware and software. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our IT infrastructure, supporting our employees in the petrochemical and plastics manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Windows operating systems, hardware troubleshooting, and network connectivity.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Install, configure, and upgrade desktop operating systems (Windows 10/11) and associated software applications.
2. Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues via phone, email, and in-person.
3. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, including PC hardware, printers, scanners, and peripherals.
4. Perform regular maintenance, including system updates, patches, and security configurations.
5. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
6. Assist with the setup and configuration of new workstations and mobile devices.
7. Document IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
8. Collaborate with the IT team on larger projects and infrastructure improvements.
9. Ensure compliance with company IT policies and security best practices.
