Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and qualified Dredge Master / Mate with a postgraduate degree to join our dynamic team in Nagpur. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in maritime operations, with a strong understanding of dredging processes and vessel management. This role is crucial for overseeing and executing dredging projects, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with all relevant regulations. You will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of dredging vessels and equipment, managing the crew, and maintaining high standards of performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Command and navigate dredging vessels safely and efficiently, adhering to all maritime laws and company policies.
- Supervise and direct dredging operations, including material extraction, transport, and disposal.
- Manage and lead the vessel's crew, ensuring proper training, discipline, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain the operational readiness and seaworthiness of the vessel and its equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of dredging machinery and equipment, reporting any defects or maintenance needs.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company standards during all dredging activities.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of vessel movements, cargo, operations, and crew activities.
- Develop and implement operational plans and schedules for dredging projects.
- Liaise with shore-based management, port authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and implement contingency plans as required.
