Emergency Department Nurse

Role Summary: The Emergency Department Nurse will provide direct and indirect patient care in the emergency department. This role requires a highly skilled and compassionate individual to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients presenting with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries. The nurse will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assess patient conditions, including vital signs, symptoms, and medical history, and document findings accurately.
2. Provide immediate and appropriate nursing care to patients in emergency situations, including administering medications, performing wound care, and managing airways.
3. Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition, escalating care as needed.
4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
5. Educate patients and their families about their condition, treatment plan, and self-care measures.
6. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
7. Participate in emergency preparedness drills and respond to mass casualty incidents as required.
8. Ensure the efficient and safe flow of patients through the emergency department.
