Export / Import Manager

Role Summary: We are seeking a highly accomplished and analytical Export / Import Manager with a Doctorate/PhD to join our dynamic team in Thane. This role is crucial for managing and optimizing our international trade operations, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and driving efficiency in our global supply chain. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background coupled with a strategic mindset to navigate the complexities of international trade within the legal industry context.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic plans for import and export operations, aligning with the company's overall business objectives.
• Oversee all aspects of the export/import process, including documentation, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and logistics management.
• Ensure strict adherence to all international trade laws, regulations, customs procedures, and trade agreements applicable to India and destination/origin countries.
• Conduct in-depth research and analysis on global trade trends, market opportunities, and potential risks, providing actionable insights to senior management.
• Manage relationships with international suppliers, customers, customs brokers, shipping lines, and other third-party logistics providers.
• Analyze and optimize import/export costs, identify areas for cost savings, and negotiate favorable terms with service providers.
• Develop and maintain robust internal controls and reporting systems for all international trade activities.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all international transactions are conducted ethically and in accordance with legal frameworks, especially concerning cross-border legal services and documentation.
• Prepare detailed reports on export/import performance, compliance status, and market intelligence for executive review.
• Stay abreast of changes in trade policies, tariffs, and regulations that may impact the company's international business.
