Financial Accountant

Role Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and accomplished Financial Accountant with a Doctorate/PhD to join our finance team in Nagpur. This role is crucial for providing advanced financial insights, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to strategic financial planning within the dynamic Indian insurance sector. The ideal candidate will leverage their deep academic understanding and practical experience to drive financial excellence and support complex accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis, including trend identification, variance analysis, and forecasting, to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee and manage the preparation of complex financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS) and IRDAI regulations.
- Develop and implement advanced accounting policies and procedures, especially those requiring a high level of theoretical understanding and research.
- Lead internal audit processes, identify control weaknesses, and recommend improvements to enhance financial integrity.
- Manage tax compliance, including direct and indirect taxes, and liaise with tax authorities for assessments and inquiries.
- Research and interpret new accounting pronouncements and regulatory changes, assessing their impact on the company's financial reporting and operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial expertise on new product development, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
- Mentor and guide junior members of the finance team on complex accounting matters and research methodologies.
