Role Summary: The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance to support NPCI's mission of transforming digital payments in India. This role requires a strong understanding of financial management, accounting principles, and the regulatory environment specific to the payments and public sector in India.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and cost accounting.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure strong internal controls and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management and regulatory bodies.
Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads to develop accurate financial plans.
Manage cash flow and treasury operations to ensure liquidity and optimize financial resources.
Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to senior management to support decision-making and long-term financial planning.
Ensure compliance with Indian accounting standards (Ind AS) and relevant financial regulations.
Oversee the financial aspects of government grants, funding, and reporting requirements.
About National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI)
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) was incorporated in December 2008 as an umbrella organization for operating retail payments and settlement systems in India. It is promoted by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Indian Banks' Association (IBA). NPCI has been incorporated as a 'not-for-profit' company under the provisions of Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956 (now Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013). NPCI aims to be the most preferred payments network in India, enabling faster, safer, and more affordable digital payments. It has played a pivotal role in transforming the digital payments landscape of India through innovative products like RuPay, UPI, IMPS, and Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS).
