Job Description
Role Summary: The Flight Dispatcher will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and legal operation of air ambulance flights, ensuring all flights are planned and executed according to regulatory requirements and company policies. This role is critical for coordinating medical evacuations and patient transport via air, often under time-sensitive conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and file flight plans for all air ambulance operations, considering weather, airspace restrictions, and operational needs.
- Monitor flight progress, weather conditions, and operational status of aircraft in real-time.
- Communicate effectively with flight crews, medical teams, air traffic control, and ground support.
- Ensure compliance with all aviation regulations and company operating procedures.
- Manage flight schedules, including diversions, delays, and cancellations, and communicate changes promptly.
- Maintain accurate flight logs and operational records.
- Coordinate with medical personnel to ensure all necessary equipment and personnel are available for patient transport.
- Perform pre-flight and post-flight checks of operational documentation.
- Assist in emergency response planning and execution.
