Job Description
Role Summary: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Gas Engineer to join our operations team at our integrated steel plant in India. The Gas Engineer will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation, maintenance, and optimization of all industrial gas systems, including but not limited to blast furnace gas, coke oven gas, and other process gases. This role requires a strong understanding of gas handling, safety protocols, and process control within a heavy industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of all industrial gas generation, distribution, and utilization systems.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards related to gas handling and storage.
- Monitor gas quality, pressure, and flow rates, implementing adjustments to optimize performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to gas systems, including leaks, pressure drops, and equipment malfunctions.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for gas-related equipment.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure seamless integration of gas systems with plant processes.
- Participate in the design, installation, and commissioning of new gas systems or modifications to existing ones.
- Maintain accurate records of gas system performance, maintenance activities, and incident reports.
