Job Description
Role Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Geologist to join our team. The Geologist will be responsible for assessing and managing geological resources and environmental impacts related to our pulp and paper operations, particularly concerning water sources, raw material extraction, and waste management. This role is crucial for ensuring sustainable and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct geological surveys and site investigations to identify and assess potential water sources and mineral deposits relevant to paper production.
- Analyze geological data, including soil and rock samples, to understand subsurface conditions and potential risks.
- Evaluate the environmental impact of geological activities and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor groundwater levels and quality, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering and environmental teams to integrate geological findings into project planning and operational improvements.
- Prepare detailed geological reports, maps, and presentations for management and regulatory bodies.
- Advise on best practices for geological resource management and sustainable land use.
