Job Description

Role Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Junior Editor with a strong understanding of legal principles and excellent writing skills to join our communications team. The ideal candidate will have completed an LLM and possess 2-3 years of experience in editing across print, online, and electronic mediums. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the clarity, accuracy, and consistency of our educational content and organizational publications, particularly those that require a nuanced understanding of legal or policy-related information.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and edit a variety of content, including reports, articles, website copy, social media posts, and internal documents, ensuring grammatical accuracy, stylistic consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Proofread content for errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax, with a keen eye for detail.
- Fact-check information and verify the accuracy of claims, especially those pertaining to legal frameworks, policies, or educational research.
- Collaborate with program teams, researchers, and content creators to understand complex subject matter and translate it into clear, accessible language.
- Adapt content for different audiences and platforms, ensuring its effectiveness across print, online, and electronic formats.
- Assist in developing and maintaining style guides and editorial calendars.
- Conduct research as needed to support content development and fact-checking.
- Provide feedback on content structure, flow, and overall readability.
- Ensure all published material aligns with Pratham's mission and values.
