Role Summary:
We are seeking a diligent and organized Lab Assistant to support our research and development and quality control laboratories within the railway manufacturing sector. The Lab Assistant will be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing samples, conducting basic tests, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality and integrity of materials and products used in our railway manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior technicians and engineers in conducting various material and component tests.
- Prepare samples for testing according to established protocols.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of laboratory apparatus and workspaces.
- Record test results accurately and meticulously in laboratory notebooks and digital systems.
- Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents, and reorder as needed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols within the laboratory environment.
- Support in the development and implementation of new testing procedures.
- Organize and maintain laboratory records and documentation.
