Job Description
Role Summary: The Legal Counsel will be responsible for managing and advising on arbitration and other dispute resolution matters for the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). This role requires a deep understanding of commercial laws, arbitration procedures, and regulatory frameworks relevant to the financial services and payments industry in India.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide legal advice and strategic guidance on all aspects of arbitration, including domestic and international arbitrations.
Draft, review, and negotiate arbitration agreements, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
Manage end-to-end arbitration proceedings, including appointment of arbitrators, evidence management, and appearances before arbitral tribunals.
Advise on alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms and strategies.
Liaise with external legal counsel and manage litigation budgets.
Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices affecting NPCI.
Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions on complex issues.
Assist in developing and implementing policies and procedures related to dispute resolution.
