Legal Counsel - Arbitration & Litigation

Role Summary:
Vedanta Limited is seeking a seasoned Legal Counsel with expertise in arbitration and litigation to join our dynamic legal team in India. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and resolving a variety of legal disputes, with a particular focus on matters arising from our extensive operations in the metals and mining sector. This role requires a strong understanding of Indian arbitration laws, civil procedure, and commercial dispute resolution mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage and oversee arbitration proceedings, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and representing the company in arbitral hearings.
* Handle civil litigation matters, from initial filing through to trial and appeal.
* Provide legal advice and strategic guidance on dispute resolution strategies.
* Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues related to commercial contracts, mining operations, environmental regulations, and other relevant areas.
* Liaise with external counsel, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
* Review and advise on contractual terms to mitigate legal risks and potential disputes.
* Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures.
* Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations, particularly those affecting the mining and metals industry in India.
* Prepare and present legal reports and updates to senior management.
