Job Description
Role Summary: VA Tech Wabag Limited is seeking a proactive and experienced Legal Counsel to join our India operations. This role will be instrumental in managing the legal aspects of our water and wastewater treatment projects across India, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and mitigating legal risks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of corporate law, contract law, and environmental regulations pertinent to the water and waste management sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including EPC contracts, O&M agreements, consultancy agreements, and vendor contracts, ensuring alignment with company policies and legal requirements.
- Provide legal advice and support on regulatory compliance, environmental laws, and permits related to water and wastewater treatment projects in India.
- Manage and resolve legal disputes, litigation, and arbitration proceedings effectively.
- Conduct legal research and provide analysis on new legislation and its impact on the company's business operations.
- Advise on corporate governance matters, including compliance with company law and securities regulations.
- Assist in due diligence processes for new projects and acquisitions.
- Liaise with external legal counsel, government agencies, and other stakeholders as required.
