Job Description
Role Summary: The Legal Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support to Jio Platforms Limited's operations within India. This role involves managing legal affairs, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, and mitigating legal risks for the company in the dynamic telecommunications and ISP sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, and negotiate various commercial contracts, agreements, and legal documents related to telecommunications, internet services, and technology.
- Advise on corporate governance matters, regulatory compliance, and licensing requirements specific to the Indian telecom industry.
- Conduct legal research and provide opinions on complex legal issues, including data privacy, intellectual property, and competition law.
- Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes, working closely with external counsel when necessary.
- Ensure adherence to all applicable Indian laws, including the Indian Contract Act, Companies Act, and telecom-specific regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures.
- Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
- Stay updated on changes in legislation and case law affecting the telecommunications sector in India.
