Job Description

Role Summary: The Legal Rights Associate will be responsible for providing legal support and guidance to Pratham's programs and operations across India. This role involves ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, assisting in policy development, and advocating for the rights of children and communities Pratham serves. The Associate will work closely with program teams and external legal counsel to address legal challenges and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review and draft legal documents, including contracts, MoUs, and policy documents.
- Advise program teams on legal implications of their activities and ensure compliance with Indian laws, including those related to child rights, education, and non-profit operations.
- Conduct legal research on various issues affecting the organization and its beneficiaries.
- Assist in managing legal disputes and litigation, coordinating with external lawyers as needed.
- Develop and deliver legal training to staff and stakeholders.
- Monitor changes in legislation and regulations relevant to the education and social service sectors in India.
- Support advocacy efforts by providing legal analysis and input.
- Maintain accurate legal records and documentation.
