Role Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Logistics Operations Manager to oversee and optimize our supply chain and logistics operations within the Defence & Aerospace sector. This role requires a strong understanding of inventory management, transportation, warehousing, and procurement, with a focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a Master of Commerce (M.Com) degree and 3-6 years of relevant experience, demonstrating a keen analytical mind and problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic logistics plans to support production and delivery schedules.
- Manage and supervise all inbound and outbound logistics activities, including freight forwarding, customs clearance, and transportation.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing carrying costs.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials and components.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners.
- Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Manage a team of logistics personnel, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
- Prepare and manage logistics budgets, tracking expenditures and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Utilize ERP systems and other logistics software for planning, tracking, and reporting.
