We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Machine Shop Incharge / Supervisor with 3-4 years of experience to oversee our precision machining operations. The ideal candidate will possess a B.Des degree and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and team supervision, particularly within the defence and aerospace sector.
Role Summary:
The Machine Shop Incharge / Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the machine shop, managing production schedules, supervising skilled technicians, and maintaining high standards of quality and output. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the machine shop, ensuring adherence to production targets and schedules.
- Supervise and guide a team of machine operators and technicians, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Implement and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure all manufactured parts meet stringent aerospace and defence specifications.
- Manage machine maintenance schedules and troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for manufacturing.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies within the machine shop.
- Monitor inventory of raw materials and tooling, initiating reorder processes as needed.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
- Provide training and development opportunities for the machine shop team.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and provide feedback on design for manufacturability.
