Job Description

Role Summary:
Coursera is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to oversee and optimize the production processes for our educational content delivery systems and physical learning materials. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient, scalable, and high-quality manufacturing of resources that support our global learners and educators. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing operations, process improvement, and team leadership within a technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to meet production goals, quality standards, and cost targets.
- Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for hardware components and physical learning kits.
- Oversee the selection, installation, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and technology.
- Collaborate with R&D, product management, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of new products.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing operations, identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Manage production schedules, inventory levels, and resource allocation.
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and implement Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and ensure product quality.
