We are seeking a highly motivated and legally astute Marine / Maritime Pilot with 1-2 years of experience to join our team in Chennai. This role, while unconventional for the hospitality industry, is critical for managing our unique maritime assets and ensuring safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of maritime law and pilotage, coupled with a keen eye for detail and excellent problem-solving skills. This position requires a specialized LLM degree, indicating a deep theoretical and practical knowledge of legal frameworks governing maritime activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide expert pilotage services for all vessels entering, maneuvering within, and departing our Chennai port facilities.

Ensure strict adherence to all national and international maritime laws, regulations, and company policies.

Conduct pre-arrival and post-departure briefings with vessel captains, providing critical information on port conditions, navigational hazards, and operational procedures.

Utilize advanced navigational tools and techniques to ensure safe passage of vessels, especially in confined or congested waters.

Interpret and apply knowledge gained from LLM studies to resolve complex legal and operational issues related to maritime activities.

Collaborate with port authorities, harbor masters, and other stakeholders to maintain seamless port operations.

Maintain accurate logs and records of all pilotage operations and related activities.

Contribute to the development and review of port safety procedures and emergency response plans.
