Job Description
Role Summary: The Maritime Pilot will be responsible for the safe and efficient navigation of vessels within designated port limits and approaches. This role requires expert knowledge of local waters, vessel handling characteristics, and navigational aids. The pilot will work closely with ship masters, port authorities, and Navio's technology platform to ensure seamless operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert guidance and direct control of vessels during arrival, departure, and maneuvering within port waters.
- Utilize Navio's integrated technology platform to monitor vessel traffic, environmental conditions, and operational data.
- Communicate effectively with ship masters, VTS operators, tug captains, and other relevant personnel.
- Assess and manage risks associated with vessel movements, including weather, traffic density, and navigational hazards.
- Maintain accurate logs and reports of pilotage operations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of pilotage procedures and the integration of technology into port operations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations and safety standards.
